This blue filter with Microban is used on the Twilight Series spas dating from 2009 to current only, and the anti-microbial coating of this filter kills and inhibits the growth of microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi, or protozoa, as well as destroying viruses. 

Master Spas recommends that you replace your primary "M" (Anti-Microbial) filters every 12 months.
